Dennis Smith

Kudos to Ed for suggesting it and the Palace management for putting it up, whether on their own or following up on Ed's idea.

Your original post prompted me to go to imdb.com to check out their data and they list the Rialto Theater in South Pasadena as a shooting location but no credit is given to the Palace. I submitted a correction but it has not yet been added to the Thriller listings.

As an indication of how little has changed on Broadway in the last quarter century, the storefront signage that appears just to the right of the Palace marquee is the same as it was in 1983 when Michael and Ola made their exit on to the street of a mostly deserted downtown after dark.
