A night out
Comedian, writer, and blogger for The Huffington Post , Rick Overton, on stage at the Palace Theatre. Harsh lighting with improvised lights gave Downtown's first comedy walk a raw look. A few more photos from both the Downtown Art Walk, and the first Downtown Comedy Walk, after the jump:

MJ Higgins new gallery and event space on Spring St had the late night crowd.
Erika Caballero of Salon Pure on 6th, between Main and Los Angeles, kept the new salon open to introduce herself and hair maverick Scott Scanlon to gallery goers.
Young artist Dicarlo Salcide, who goes by the name "Skew", shares his current portfolio with a gallery owner, who goes by the name of Man One.
Nicholas McPhail oil on wood series explores dingbat apartments, alleys and small commercial buildings from La Brea to Sunset Blvd. I call it "hipster landscape."
Short form improvisation group by The Mutiny at LATC, the site for ensemble comedy.
In the Hotel Alexandria, Poetri was demanding some love for his Tony Award before joking about Krispy Kremes. Garrett Morris hosted this Comedy Walk venue. Poetri's strong set, as others would say, "killed".
Pharmaka was busy, as expected.
